Modifiers are optional extras that can be added to your products. For example, if you have a burger, you could offer extras like an additional cheese patty or more salad. Modifiers allow you to set these options and assign prices to them, just like in a typical restaurant.
Here is a step-by-step guide to that or written out below
To manage these, you'll need to create modifier groups and assign specific toppings or extras within each group, each with its own price.
You can find and set up modifiers under Admin Panel > Settings > Modifiers
Clicking on the plus icon will open a pop-up window where you can create the actual modifier that will be added to products.
Here’s what you’ll need to set:
- Name: This is the name of the modifier (e.g., 'Extra Cheese').
- Display Name: This is how the modifier will appear to the customer when they select it, similar to booking extras.
- Description (optional): You can provide additional details about the modifier if needed.
- Quantity Limits: Set how many of this modifier a customer can add to the product.
- Settings: This is where you add the specific options or extras available within the modifier.
Once set up, the modifiers will be available to attach to relevant products.
Here’s how it works:
- Name: Add a name for the modifier, like 'Cheese.'
- SKU: This is for inventory tracking, but the function isn't available yet.
- Price: Set the price for the modifier (e.g., $1 for extra cheese).
- Quantity Limit: Define how many of this modifier can be added to the product.
- Add Options: Use this to create specific options, such as different types of cheese.
Once you've created all the modifiers, the next step is to assign them to products.
Go to Settings > Products and select an already existing product to attach the modifiers.
Once the modifiers are assigned to a product, customers will be able to add these extras in various places:
- POS Tab: If you have a POS system set up.
- Tables: When ordering through table service.
- Shop Page: If the product is available on your shop page.
- Booking Extras: If the modifier is linked as an extra during the booking process.
This allows customers to easily customize their order by adding toppings or extras wherever it's available
