There has been some confusion around Packages on Memberships, so this article will help explain the difference between the available package types and how Membership Packages work.
Packages in the Customer Tab
Some users believe that the Packages you can create in the Customer tab are the same as Membership Packages and they appear under the same navigation section.
This is not the case.
The Packages created within the Customer tab are designed specifically for:
- The POS (Point of Sale) system (Admin Side)
- Shop Pages
- Or add separately to the customer itself
These package types are currently only available if you have the POS system enabled on your account.
Adding Packages to Memberships
To add Packages to a Membership, you will need to go to the Membership tab.
- Navigate to Memberships
- Create a new membership or edit an existing one
- Open the Perks section
Creating a Package Perk
Within Perks, you can already create:
- Standard perks
- Discount perks
You will now also see a new option called Packages.
When creating a Package perk, you can:
- Add specific bay options
- Zero the price for those options
- Control how many times members can use them
Why is this useful?
Packages significantly improve the way free hours or included sessions are managed within memberships.
Previously, many setups required:
- Separate bay options
- Restrictions
- Memberships starting only at the beginning of the month
With Packages:
- Benefits renew automatically with the customer’s billing date
- You no longer need the old restriction-based setup
- Memberships become much more flexible
This means customers can receive their included hours or sessions based on their own billing cycle rather than a fixed calendar month.
Multiple Options and Usage Limits
You can add multiple options to a single Package perk and define how many bookings a customer can make against each option.
For example:
- 4 Peak Hours bookings
- 2 Off-Peak bookings
- 1 Lesson booking
All within the same membership package.
Tracking Remaining Benefits
Another major advantage of Packages is visibility.
Both staff and customers will be able to see how many remaining uses or benefits are still available within the package.
This makes it much easier to manage memberships and track usage.
Summary
- Customer tab Packages are for the Admin side, POS and Shop Pages only
- Membership Packages are configured inside Membership Perks
- Package perks can zero the price of selected bay options
- Benefits renew automatically with the billing date
- Multiple booking options and limits can be added
- Remaining usage can be tracked easily
